Miami continues to be a magnet for all things creative and cool, with fashion flagships and popular pop-ups seeming to appear weekly, and at least two reality-television shows in the works (and many more rumored to be filming here). And speaking of cool, this issue celebrates our symbiotic relationship with New York and all the people, places and products the two cities share. We’re thrilled to have as our cover star fashion darling Georgina Chapman. When she was recently at the Bal Harbour Shops showcasing Marchesa’s unapologetically feminine dresses for which she and partner Keren Craig have become famous, I knew instantly she was the perfect choice for our cover. Miami-based photographer Greg Lotus captures her unerring sense of style and captivating beauty in a series of stunning portraits. The English import discusses her favorite New York spots, her latest collection and her love of drama and theater with writer Laurie Brookins. She also hints at expansion plans for Marchesa— including larger Resort and Pre-Fall collections, and possibly a new shoe and handbag line—so stay tuned!

We also take an exclusive trip backstage with Ocean Drive contributing editor Patrick McMullan during New York Fashion Week to preview this fall’s hottest trends. Back in Miami, writer Alix Sharkey profiles the Mollá brothers and their red-hot advertising agency, La Comunidad. They launched the company eight years ago after a rum-fueled sailing trip, and now they produce some of the world’s most acclaimed campaigns. Also in this issue, deputy editor Eric Newill discovers why Steven Bauer is looking for fine art, Brooke Soffer redefines retail at the Fontainebleau, and Brett Sokol gets an inside look at Bal Harbour’s first family.
